Ron Wood is priest in charge of the parish of Seale Puttenham and Wanborough.
On the 3rd January 2010 Ron wrote to the parish to say
The five years of my contract in this parish have come to an end, and I have had to decide whether to stay another five, or move on. Pam and I have decided that the time has come, not to retire completely, but to semi-retire. I have accepted a post in Somerset, on a “house-for-duty” basis.
That means working two days a week, plus Sundays, in return for living in a nice house in the village of Galhampton, near Castle Cary, and not far from Wincanton and Yeovil.
I will be Assistant Priest in a large benefice of nine parishes, with a Vicar and three Readers.
My last Sunday here with you will be Easter Sunday, April 4th.
We have enjoyed the last five years very much, and the time has passed, for me, very quickly. Pam and I have made friends here, and we know we will see you again. Meanwhile, we have Lent and Easter to look forward to, and we hope to make it a time of real joy.
Ron Wood.
