LENT 2010
The season of Lent starts with Ash Wednesday on the 17th February when there will have been special services of Holy Communion with Imposition of Ashes at 10 am at the Sands Church and 7.30 pm at Puttenham Church.
And then on each of the following five Wednesday evenings we are going to look at five of the seven “I am” statements made by Jesus as reported in St. John’s gospel. We will read Bible passages both New and Old Testament (remember to bring a Bible); we will sing hymns, we will pray, and we will have moments of quiet.
The idea for this course comes from a booklet by David Adam entitled “The Great I am. Lent group meditations to increase our relationship with the Living Lord”.
The meetings will take place on the five Wednesdays of Lent starting on February 24th at 7.30 pm in the Marwick Hall, Puttenham, and will be lead by the Rev. Norman Evans.
