Total attendance
- The total attendance in 2008 was 7029, an increase of 2½% on 2007.
- The increase stemmed entirely from higher attendance in Wanborough and Sands. In Wanborough the increase was 20%, much of which resulted from switching the carol service from the church to the Great Barn. The increase of 8% at Sands owed mainly to two services, a Pet Service and a United Communion Service. Attendance at the two main churches was similar to the previous year.
- Of the total attendance, 11% was by children under the age of 16 years, a little lower than in 2007.
- 41% of the annual attendance was at ‘special’ services, which accounted for 20% of all services. Special services are services on festival days, services to celebrate a special occasion or united services.
- Seale’s share of the total attendance fell slightly to 34% (36% in 2007), and Puttenham’s also dropped a little, now to 36%. Wanborough’s share rose to 17% (14% in 2007). Sands’ share has increased over the last 4 years and is now 13%.
